WAIGER is aiming for TVL numbers well above industry standards. By offering seamless ways to lock tokens for the every day user (with no blockchain knowledge), we can drive much higher uptake in staking mechanics and not rely only on whales contributing to TVL.

The opportunity to stake $WAIGER will be available for players who wish to earn additional benefits. There are 2 ways to stake at launch:

1. Stake to earn Energy

2. Stake on NFT Wearables to unlock rewards

The size of the stake and the duration of the stake both impact the efficacy of the rewards. A maximum stake and duration will exist for both options, to unlock the maximum rewards. As the player’s account progresses, they will be able to raise their maximum stake limits, increasing their reward potential. A maximum upgrade limit will exist.

Staking benefits can be realized intraday.

All cosmetics in the WAIGER ecosystem have the ability to stake $WAIGER into them to unlock the wearable’s rewards perks. While these cosmetics can be worn without perks, unlocking the full power of the wearable increases the rewards players can earn while playing in the $WAIGER ecosystem. As an example, a top hat could reward $WAIGER whenever the player wins a hand with pocket aces. Stacking multiple wearables can become a strategy in it of itself! Players will have 5 slots on their avatar in which to slot wearables.

Staking $WAIGER into wearables directly impacts the effectiveness of the perks. The reward rate is determined by three factors: the amount of $WAIGER staked, the duration of the staking, and the rarity of the item. Rarer wearables allow for longer staking periods and higher staking amounts to fully unlock their bonuses. All staking information is made publicly available to enable informed decision-making.

Players may choose to unstake early, but this incurs a penalty, burning a percentage of the staked $WAIGER depending on how early the unstaking occurs. The return follows an accelerating curve, meaning the closer it is to the end of the staking period, the more $WAIGER is returned. If the staking period is completed, all $WAIGER is returned with no penalty. Additionally, players have the option to sell their wearable with $WAIGER staked on it, transferring the staked amount along with the item.
